February Full Moon: Action & Surrender

Hello Moonchild :)


How is month 2 of the year going for you? What do you sense with the the brilliant Full Moon energy peaking today (February 12)?


Pause, take a couple of deep breaths and reflect.

This Moon invites you to take responsibility and embrace/accept your actions since the beginning of the year. Remember and reinforce what makes you come alive, your aspirations, motivations. goals. Realign if required. Surrender to whatever unfolds, trust the plan laid out for you. Keep going, you are doing alright, and have fun while at it :)





WHAT CAN YOU DO TODAY?

Set aside about an hour and create a sacred space with flowers, incense and anything else that holds meaning for you. Keep your journal and pen handy. Light a ghee lamp (preferably) or a candle. Sit down and close eyes. Offer gratitude to your Gurus and ancestors. Visualize a Full Moon in your eyebrow centre, take a few breaths asking the lunar energies to guide you.


A. GROUNDING

Grounding by consciously placing your palms or feet on the bare earth/floor or being aware of the parts of the body in touch with Mother Earth is a powerful practice on Moon days. Visualize taking in energy from the earth as you inhale and releasing energy (energy that doesn't serve you well) into the earth as you exhale. Do this for 24 breaths


B. MOVEMENT

You could go through a gentle heart and hip opening movement practice to release and open up the body.



C. RAISE YOUR PRANA

1)Do a guided gratitude meditation. You could follow the one shared here or any other of your choice.





D. REFLECTION THROUGH JOURNALING

Use the following prompts and write continuously for 5 minutes each:


Prompt 1

Since January, I have been....

After this writing, read it. Sit and breathe with equal inhales and exhales for 12 breaths. Bring in a sense of acceptance for what has expressed in your writing. Tell yourself silently - "I take responsibility for my actions and inactions."


Prompt 2

I come alive when...

Read what you have written. Sit with eyes closed for a while, absorbing the essence.


Prompt 3

Going forward I see myself...

Read what you have written. Spend some time reflecting on how to bring these into action/realign. Note these down as well. Then place your palms on your heart and make a promise to yourself to work on them.

(Plan to do one small thing related to it right after the ritual that reinforces it. For example, if your unfolding involves making more time for yourself, pick a simple activity that you love and do it. If it has gratitude as part of it, express it to someone you need to. If it is in the area of health and wellness, make a meal plan or cook a healthy meal or go out for a walk or a jog. The examples are simple, just for guidance.)


E. ABSOLUTE SURRENDER & CELEBRATION

Complete the ritual by prostrating to Mother Earth. Adopt an attitude of complete surrender to all that has been, is happening and will unfold. Know that you are being guided. Kiss the Earth. Break into a dance without any inhibitions, moving intuitively. Feel free to play music.



Close by offering gratitude to the Earth, the Moon, your Gurus and ancestors.
