Hello Moonchild :)

We are halfway into 2026! How have the past few months been for you? Close your eyes, take a couple of breaths, reflect. The Full Moon rises tonight as a reminder for us to stop rushing, create some time for ourselves to land our thoughts and emotions and ground ourselves. Look at this as a wonderful time to tap into your intuition and inner strength, renew, refresh and rebirth yourself for the rest of the year.

What can you do today?

Set aside about an hour. You can do this anytime, ideally post moonrise. Try not to take it too close to your sleep time.

(Please check Moonrise/Moonset timings, I use the My Moon Phase app.)

Start by creating a safe and sacred physical space for the ritual. Choose a room that you feel comfortable in and will not be disturbed. You can decorate the space with flowers, incense and anything else that holds meaning for you. Light a candle or ghee diya. Keep your journal and pen handy.

Sit down and close eyes. Offer gratitude to your Gurus and ancestors. Visualize a Full Moon in your eyebrow centre, take a few breaths asking the lunar energies to guide you.

A. SETTING A SANKALPA

Open a page on your journal or take a piece of paper. Your purpose today is to surrender to all that has transpired, go back to your natural state of calm and groundedness and connect/rise with your inner power. Think of it as a sacred bath to renew and recharge yourself for the time ahead :)

Write this down as a Sankalpa (resolve).

I am calm and grounded. I am connected to the divine/source of power/knowing/potential within me. I expand and act with this wisdom.

(Feel free to adapt this with words that resonate with you)

Read this aloud 3 times. Close eyes and say it silently 3 times, with complete feeling and honesty. Trust your sankalpa.

B. MOVEMENT TO SHED AND ENABLE IMPROVED PRANA FLOW

Go through a gentle asana practice. You can include basic joint movements, mild twists, the cat & cow pose, hip openers like Baddhakonasana (butterfly/cobbler's pose), Skandasana (side lunges) if possible, forward bending poses, Anandabalasana (Happy baby pose), Malasana (deep squat), mild side stretches and anything that is needed specifically to target release in your body. End with a Balasana (child's pose) staying in it in complete surrender for 12 breaths.

C. REFLECTION

Open a fresh page in your journal. Write down month by month, until June, what you remember has transpired in your life. This will take some time. So do not rush it, Do it intentionally and from the heart. This would span your personal and professional life, your health, mental and emotional landscape and more. If you remember them as incidents then jot them down that way. There is no right or wrong way to do this. You only have to remain true to yourself.

Once you are done, go back to child's pose in an act of complete acceptance of all that was. Stay here for as long as you like with relaxed breaths.

D. CONNECTING WITH THE INTUITIVE SPACE & EXPANDING

Sit in a meditative posture.

Observe your normal rhythmic breaths.

As you proceed, raise your awareness of the pauses between the inhale and the next exhale and also that between the exhale and the next inhale.

Do not force these pauses, simply watch them, however small the duration of these are.

As you watch, the pauses may naturally extend.

Be curious about these pauses, giving them all your attention.

Do this until you feel a greater sense of calm and quiet.

Then, repeat your Sankalpa here.

I am calm and grounded. I am connected to the divine/source of power/knowing/potential within me. I expand and act with this wisdom.

(or whatever you wrote)

Then open eyes, stand up slowly, widen your legs and extend your arms towards the sky. This is an act of opening and expansion. Feel the energy radiating from your centre towards the periphery. Let the breath be smooth, sensing more expansion with every succeeding breath. Take 12 breaths.

E. CHARTING THE PATH FORWARD

You will initiate this today. It is something that will unfold and evolve over the next few days, provided you stay connected to the process and read the journal everyday.

For now, sit and write down whatever occurs to you as very practical action points going forward. Here, take care to put down simpler, do-able steps. Even baby steps are excellent. In fact, they allow more scope for refinement and evolution as you journey ahead. These could be even one or two action points now. There is no pressure to write a lot in this moment. More importantly, put down what feels right and authentic and that which flows easily from within.

Once done, sit with eyes closed and focus on your breath, settling body and mind down. Place your palms on your heart and know that you are holding space for yourself and taking the much needed steps forward.

F. CLOSING

Close the ritual by offering gratitude to your ancestors, Gurus, the Moon and Mother Earth.

Read the journal action points every morning as soon as you wake up and every night before you sleep. Add on/alter as needed.

Have a truthful practice and a beautiful Full Moon day! :)

Love & Gratitude
