Hello Moonchild :)

We have a blue Moon rising tonight - called so as it is the second Full Moon in a calendar month with two Full Moons. On May 1 we had the first Full Moon that began a cycle infused with high energy showing up in many realms of life. Under this blue Moon, the happenings start making sense - specially with whatever needs release and closure, showing up in a big way. Emotions are likely to bubble up to the surface, they are the guides towards what needs to be cleared.
Through all this, the attitude of a witness will serve you well as I mentioned in the last blog.
This blue moon invites you to be watchful of your truest emotions.
Pay attention to your body - nurture it and move it, anchor through your breath - through focused practices once a day and breath awareness many times through the day. These will help you to clear the cobwebs and allow the real emotions to shine through. You can then examine them for a better understanding of your inner world towards facilitating release.
What can you do today?
Set aside about an hour. You can do this anytime, ideally post moonrise. Try not to take it too close to your sleep time.
(Please check Moonrise/Moonset timings, I use the My Moon Phase app.)
Start by creating a safe and sacred physical space for the ritual. Choose a room that you feel comfortable in and will not be disturbed. You can decorate the space with flowers, incense and anything else that holds meaning for you. Light a candle or ghee diya. Keep your journal and pen handy.
Sit down and close eyes. Offer gratitude to your Gurus and ancestors. Visualize a Full Moon in your eyebrow centre, take a few breaths asking the lunar energies to guide you.
A. REFLECTIVE JOURNALING
Open a page on your journal or take a piece of paper. If you did the last Full Moon ritual, refer back to the writing, spending some time reading it.
AREAS OF LIFE
On a fresh page, write down the areas in focus in your life at the moment. Eg: Work, Relationships, Health, Leisure, Your own personality aspects including habits, perceptions, emotions, desires and the like that you are working on/are aware of etc.
Those who did the last Moon ritual, can notice if things are the same or are there any shifts.
Elaborate under these areas, writing clearly, honestly, what you are experiencing, without holding back, sans judgements.
EMOTIONS
Now write down the emotions and feelings that have been dominant in the last one month. Label them clearly, writing them down in big letters Associate the emotions and feelings with the areas of your life that you penned down.
Once done, read through it. SIt with closed eyes for a while, focusing on your breath. You dont have to think about it anymore. You will revisit the journaling later.
B. MOVEMENT & BREATH TO CLEANSE AND JOURNEY INWARDS
Go through a gentle movement practice. Add poses that aid opening and release for your body. Additionally, if weather permits, go outdoors for a little while to bask in the Full Moon energies and gaze at the Full Moon. Make sure you do this alone and do not get distracted from the process.
Come back to your sacred space. Sit quietly with closed eyes for sometime.
Sit on a chair with feet on a mat or sit cross-legged on a mat.
Breathe in gently through the nose.
Blow out slowly through pursed lips, extending your exhale to a comfortable level. Feel a sense of release and relaxation in the body every time you breathe out.
Do this for 12 breaths.
Then observe your normal breathing, more or less equalizing the inhale and exhale.
Do this for 12 breaths.
Then let the breath become spontaneous and natural. Sit with that for a few seconds.
Notice the connection of your body to Mother Earth and open your eyes.
C. REVIEW
Open a fresh page in your journal.
Without looking at or remembering the earlier writing, once again write down the emotions that you feel have been predominant in your life lately.
Then compare this with what you wrote earlier, see if there is more clarity.
Circle the emotions that need attention.
Connect these emotions back to the areas of life you wrote down earlier. Elaborate the way these emotions played out in what situations. Write them down as they happened, in total honesty.
Then sit with eyes closed and a focus on your breath, settling body and mind down.
Ask yourself silently:
What do I need to change or release towards alignment and peace?
Watch the answers surfacing. Then put these down as well.
Some pointers here:
It could be your own responses. It could be letting go of resistance to change or releasing your need to control how things have to be. It could be something as tangible as investing lesser time in a person or activity. Or it could even be just letting go of effort from your end, to surrender and allow things to unfold by themselves. It could be letting go of grudges, fear, guilt, procrastrination etc. or forgiving oneself or another.
These are just to aid your process. It could be something other than any of these too :)
Once you are done, read everything slowly and sit in silence.
Place your palms on your heart and make a sincere promise to yourself and the Moon to allow the release/change in your life starting from this moment on.
D. CLOSING
Close the ritual by offering gratitude to your ancestors, Gurus, the Moon and Mother Earth.
Read the last part with the release notes every morning as soon as you wake up and every night before you sleep.
Have a lovely Blue Moon practice and a beautiful release initiation!
Love & Gratitude
