Hello Moonchild :)
The first New Moon Solar Eclipse of 2025 is on March 29. This follows the Lunar Eclipse on March 14. It is a partial eclipse and will not be visible in India. The Eclipse will begin at 2.20 PM, reach its maximum at 4.17 PM, and conclude by 6.13 PM.
In an Indian context, it is Chaitra Amavasya. Since it is a powerful day of Saturn's transit in Pisces, it is significant from the point of view of karma cleansing, spiritual elevation and ancestral benefits. Some of you may already have sacred ancestral rituals handed down through the generations. If you don't and you resonate with this, you can do a heartfelt prayer and offerings of a ghee diya and food to your ancestors. Do not hesitate to consult those who can guide you well on this.
About the eclipse,
Irrespective of visibility, the eclipse season from the Lunar to the Solar eclipse impacts all, it's effects noticeable days before and after.
Eclipses bring forth destined events that fuel much-needed transformations in life.
The Solar eclipse amplifies the energy of the New Moon. It translates as owning and celebrating your authenticity, unlocking powerful new beginnings and adopting new ways of being and doing that are truly aligned with who you are. Specially with this eclipse, you may find that these apply to your relationships in a big way. The divine places something in your path leading to a strong shift that changes the course of your life. So pay attention, slow down, watch and reflect. Do not miss the opportunity for growth!
WHAT IS A RITUAL YOU CAN DO?
You will need: A quiet room, about an hour, journal and pen. If you have a favourite deity or an altar, let these be part of the space you are practising in.
Sit in a meditative posture. Centre yourself by observing your connection with Mother Earth. Remember your ancestors and Gurus and seek their blessings. Visualize a Dark Moon in your eyebrow centre. As you inhale and exhale a few times, ask the lunar energies to flow through you and guide you.
1.REFLECTION - Journaling
Answer this question in writing. Take 10-15 minutes.
What is the highlighted theme in my life now?
(New ideas and ventures/relationships/Health & Wellbeing/Inner work/Home & Family/circumstances taking you on a ride/Finances/anything else)
Be honest and write without any inhibitions. Once you are done, read through slowly.
2.MEDITATION
Explore this guided meditation on 'Coming Home to the Self'.
(Start the meditation at 7.54 minutes and end at 22.24, where you open your eyes and look into the palms)
3.REVIEW & CLARIFY
Revisit your writing. Remember, nothing is rigid. So if something else presents itself as the key theme after your meditation, be open to accepting that. Rewrite or add on if needed.
Now answer this in writing:
How could I possibly navigate this time?
Take 10-15 minutes and leave space for adding on later. Read this once done.
Here are some guidelines for some of the directions if they match with yours:
New ventures
Have you embarked on something new?
Stick with it and explore it more, deepen your commitment and be open to newer ways of thinking and doing.
Relationships
Are you addressing something in new or existing relationships?
Are you exploring if it is working for you?
If it is speaking to your heart, then are you showing up in it completely?
If yes, acknowledge it and express and celebrate it with the person/people involved.
If not, intend to probe deeper as to why not?
If there are challenges in an existing relationship, what is the insight and direction there? Is there a pattern IN THE AREA OF GIVING AND RECEIVING that needs to be broken, to infuse newness into your being? What does that breaking the pattern for you look like and how does it influence the other or others?
Is it about reclaiming your power over yourself, your sense of self worth without getting sucked in?
Is it about better communication and collaboration?
New ideas / The need for change
Have you been incubating something and not taken the first step? Reflect and review it, understand what your fears are and how you can overcome them, see if your idea speaks to your soul and put your best foot forward.
Just one thing after another
If circumstances have just been taking you on a ride, ride the wave with a curiosity as to what the hidden lesson or sign is. If you tend to be a head person, applying logic and reason all the time, pause that and let the heart lead now. Detach and look back at yourself so far in the situation. Acknowledge and sit your feelings. Accept the circumstance as a gift that is unwrapping slowly.
Close the ritual by offering gratitude to your ancestors, Gurus, the Moon and Mother Earth.
Whatever the theme may be, sit with your writing for a day or two or more. Let it clarify. Add/change/Remove things as they occur to you
What is your way forward?
1. Keep referring to the journal every few days. Add on experiences, new thoughts, observations and insights as they surface. Let all of this guide you towards your actions.
2. Stay open to insights-they may come to you in meditation or when you wake up or through people you interact with or even as dreams.
It might also be that you are still navigating the chaotic energies from the lunar eclipse time. You may still be foggy and confused. In which case, just sit with what you are going through. Ask the Dark moon to guide you, give you strength and in time reveal the wisdom hidden in what you are faced with.
Navigate it mindfully and you will rise from the eclipse season with clarity, inner strength, peace, self acceptance, evolved relationships and possibly some new gifts in the form of skills or talents that you were not tapping into.
Have a grounded and wisdom-filled eclipse season. Love and healing energy to all of you!
Gratitude
Sheetal
